ACTIVITY: COMMUNITY DRUG SYMPOSIUM

I. RATIONALE

The proliferation of illegal drugs and its unabated use caused damaging effects to
life, family, community and society, and has significantly contributed to the
incidence of heinous crimes. With this, Article VII, Section 5 of the Comprehensive
Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 requires the Local Chief Executive and Sanggunian
members to ensure adequate assistance in or enhance the enforcement of RA 9165
giving priority to preventive or educational programs and the rehabilitation or
treatment of illegal drug dependents.

With this problem, the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council targets to combat the
illegal used of drugs through drug symposium and movie screening in the different
sitio, companies and school of Barangay Tingub. And as part of the community, the
stakeholders will take part of the movement as they are bound for an accountability
for the society.

II. OBJECTIVES

The activity aims to heighten awareness and educate to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs in
the barangay.
