A. Removal of the Outer 6 o’Clock Cut Corner (IPL 8−30, −40). (See Figure 602).
CAUTION: DO NOT USE HIGH IMPACT DEVICES SUCH AS HAMMERS AND RIVET
GUNS. WHEN USING DRILLS TO REMOVE RIVETS, ENSURE PROPER
DRILL BIT LENGTH. ENSURE THAT PROPER TOOLS ARE USED WHEN
RE−INSTALLING FASTENERS. FOLLOW TORQUE AND HOLE
DIAMETER REQUIREMENTS.
(1) Drill out the rivets indicated (Figure 602) from the 6 o’clock cut corner (IPL − 8, 30, −40).

(2) Grind or drill out the rest of the rivets from the outer 6 o’clock cut corner (IPL − 8, 30,
−40). Refer to CFMI Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 70–43–22.
NOTE: DO NOT REMOVE THE STIFFENERS (IPL−8, 120, −130) AND THE
SPACER (IPL − 8, 110) FROM 6 O’CLOCK CUT CORNER
SIDEWALL.

(4) Remove the sealant with a plastic scraper and clean with a clean lint−free cloth and the
solvent. Remove the solvent with a clean lint−free cloth before the solvent becomes dry.
(1) Visually inspect the center latch fitting (IPL−6, E) under 10X magnification for cracking. If
cracks are found, please contact UTAS for removal procedure.
C. Installation of the Outer 6 o’Clock Cut Corner (IPL 8−30, −40). (See Figure 602).
(1) Put a polyester transfer film on the thrust reverser where the outer 6 o’clock cut corner is
located in order to locate all the cut corner holes.
(2) Place the polyester film and transfer hole locations on the new outer 6 o’clock cut
corner.
(3) Drill the new outer 6 o’clock cut corner. Refer to CFMI Standard Practices Manual,
Chapter 70−43−32. (See Figures 602 and 603).

(b) Apply sealant with a spatula on the 6 o’clock cut corner and on the 6 o’clock cut
corner sidewall.
(c) Remove excess of product and let cure 72 hours at 25°C (77°F).
(6) Install the new outer 6 o’clock cut corner and install rivets. Refer to CFMI Standard
Practices Manual, Chapter 70−43−32. See Figures 602 and 603.

(7) Apply a bead of sealant PR1750 CLASS B2 along the 6 o’clock cut corner and the
sidewall. Refer to CFMI Standard Practices Manual, chapter 70−66−11 for installation
process and drying times. (See Table 601).
