Maintains appropriate eye contact. c. Moves toward the learners. d. Avoids distracting behaviors. 2. Observing Skills a. Looks at the person’s face, body position, and body movements. b. Formulates an inference of the person’s feelings based on what you have observed. c. Takes appropriate action based on inferences made. 3. Listening Skills a. Listens to the words being expressed. b. Paraphrases what was said to demonstrate understanding. 4. Questioning Skills a. Asks questions appropriately using techniques.
