A Detailed Lesson Plan in English Grade
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students are able to do the following with 75% level of
proficiency to:
a. Analyze the story The Last Leaf by sequencing of events through the use of
photographs;
b. Interpret the significance of the theme by writing a letter to O. Henry and,
c. Appreciate the moral of the story by listening and viewing the story and how
they can apply it to everyday living.
What is short story, then? Our lesson was about short story.
B. Motivation
I will be distributing bond papers. We will have an
activity called “Listen and Draw”. The task that you
will do is just simple. You need to listen to the
instructions because I will just read it once.
I will give you 2 minutes to finish the given task. Is Yes, Ma’am
that clear?
First step, draw a tree.
Second, draw a sun at the upper right side of the tree. (Students will do the activity)
Next, most of the leaves of the tree fell into the
ground and only one leaf was left on a branch.
Finally, write your name on the uppermost left side of
your paper and below, your grade and section and the
date today.
Very good! Later on, you will discover the connection Winter season, in which the weather becomes

leaves.

the wall. Didn't you wonder why it never moved when
the wind blew? Ah, darling, it is Behrman's
masterpiece – he painted it there the night that the last
leaf fell.
D. Discussion
I will divide the class into 4 groups. Each group will
arrange the events of the story in chronological order,
and will choose a representative to discuss their work.
I will just give you 4 minutes to finish the task. The
group who finishes on time and arrange the events
accordingly will receive a price.
