SCRIPT ROLE PLAY “DELEGATION”

In the morning in Widya Mandala Hospital Interna Room, nurses are doing
handover.

Primary Nurse : Good morning everybody, before us start our work and finish our
1 work let us pray.

*Praying together*

Primary Nurse : So nurses who in night shift can start hand over.

Nurse 1 : Patient Mrs. B room number A-301 bed number 1 with Diabetic
Mellitus. The glucose already decreased but still in abnormal and
the doctor said to continued the insulin injection.

Nurse 3 : Patient Mrs. J room number A-301 bed number 2 with Diabetic
Mellitus too. This is new patient start from yesterday evening.
And the glucose is still high. Doctor said to give insulin injection
and have to do diet, and must consult with nutritionist

In the middle hand over, in Interna room have called by Nurse Manager.

*bell phone*

Primary Nurse : Nurse 2 please pick up the phone first.

Nurse 2 : Okay, miss.

In call

Nurse 2 : Hello, Interna Room with Nurse 2, what can I help you?

Nurse Manager : Hello Nurse 2, this is Manager Nurse. Is the Nursing Unit
Manager there? I’have talk something with her.

Nurse 2 : Yes, she is. Wait a minute, I will call her.

Nurse 2 call the Nursing Unit Manager to pick up the phone.

Nurse 2 Excuse me, Ma’am Naafi. The Nurse Manager wants to talk to
you over the telephone.

Nursing Unit Oke, Nurse. Thank you. Oke everybody just continued you hand
Manager over. Don’t wait for me.

The Nursing Unit Manager pick up phone from Nurse Manager.

Nursing Unit : Hello, ma’am. This is me Naafi, Nuring Unit Manager in Interna
Manager Room.

Nurse Manager : Hello Naafi, sorry for distrubing your time, can you meet me at 9
o’clock in my room? Because I have something to talk to you.

Nursing Unit : Oke Ma’am Tiffanny, at 9 o’clock I will meet you. Thank you
Manager for the information

Nurse Manager : Thank you Naafi.

At 9 o’clock, Nurse Naafi meet the Nurse Manager in her room

Nursing Unit : Excuse me, good morning Ma’am Tiffanny.

Manager

Nurse Manager : Good morning, please sit down here. Thank you for coming and
sorry for distrubing your time. So I have delegation for you
Naafi. In next week, I got invitation to attend workshop in
Jakarta, but I can’t attend because in next week I have important
meeting with director, and the day is same with the workshop, so
 I delegate you to attend or join this workshop. Do you agree or
not?

Nursing Unit : How long the workshop ma’am? Because in next week there are
Manager Internship nurse practice in Interna room.

Nurse Manager : Only 3 days Naafi not too long. For Internship Nurse maybe you
can delegate your Primary Nurse for lead them

Nursing unit : What date the workshop carried out ma’am?

Nurse Manager : Friday, 14th February until Sunday 16th February

Nursing Unit : Wait ma’am, can I check my schedule first? I wonder if I say yes
Manager but in reality I can’t join.

Nurse Manager : It’s okay, check your schedule first.

Nusing Unit Manager check her scedhule for a while time.

Nursing Unit : From the schedule that I saw, I only lead the internship nurse
Manager ma’am. But like you said before I think I can delegate it to my
Primary Nurse.

Nurse Manager : So do you agree with this delegation?

Nursing Unit : Yes ma’am.

Manager

Nurse Manager : Ok that you are agree, please sign this form first. This form is
proof my delegation.

Nursing Unit : OK ma’am.

Manager

Nurse Manager make the form for proof her delegation and than Nursing
Unit Manager sign the form. After sign the form, Nursing Unit Manager
comeback to her room in Interna Room. In interna room, Nursing Unit Manager
call the Primary Nurse to meet her in her room.
Nursing unit : Ms. Stefi and Ms. Reni, do you have some free time today? I
manager have something to tell with all of you.

Nurse Stefi : I think after 12 o’clock ma’am because we still doing

documentation right now.

Nurse Reni : Yes ma’am, I think so.

Nursing unit : It’s ok, meet me in my room at 12 o’clock OK?

Ns Stefi and : OK ma’am

Ns. Reni

At 12 o’clock, Primary Nurse 1 and Primary Nurse 2 there are Nurse Stefi
and Nurse Reni meet the Nursing Unit Manager in her room.

Ns. Reni : Excuse us, ma’am. Can we entering your room?

Nursing unit : Yes, sit down here please. So next week we have internship
manager nurse for practice in our room. But next week I must go to the
Jakarta for 3 days, at 14th until 16th February. In that day, I can’t
lead them. So I delegate both of you to lead them for 3 days.
Do you agree with this delegation?

Ns. Reni : Only 3 days ma’am?

Nursing unit : Yes, only 3 days.

Ns. Stefi : What are we doing when we lead them ma’am?

Nursing unit : You can lead them for taking cases, doing action or you can give
manager them as usual Interenship practice in here.

Ns. Stefi: : Ok, ma’am I agree with this delegate

Nursing unit : How about you Nurse Reni?

Ns. Reni : Ok ma’am I agree too with this delegate. But how if the
 internship doing something wrong?

Nursing unit : If you agree with this delegate I will leave all the responsibility
manager to both of you. So if they doing something wrong you can make
wise descision.

Ns. Stefi : Ok Ma’am, thank you for reminder us that all the responsibility
is ours when you already delegate it to us.

Nursing unit : Ok, because all of you agree with this delegate both of you can
manager sign in this delegate form, this is our proof for this delegate.

Ns. Stefi and : OK ma’am

Ns. Reni

Nursing unit : I will tell all nurse who in morning shift that I will go to jakarta
manager in 3 days and need their teamwork with you for take care
internship nurse when I go to Jakarta. But both of you still the
leader.

Ns. Reni : How much member internship nurse that practice in here ma’am?

Nursing unit : There are 2 groups internship nurse who practice in here.

Ns. Stefi : So ma’am, which grop am I leading?

Nursing unit : For Ns. Stefi 1st group and Ns. Reni 2nd group. Is there any
manager question more before you sign this form?

Ns. Stefi : It’s enough ma’am

Ns. Reni : Yes ma’am it’s enough

Nursing unit : OK both of you sign here please and don’t forget write down
manager your name.

Ns. Stefi : Already ma’am

Nursing unit : OK, thankyou for both of you. I wish that both of you can doing
manager this job well. You can back to work again. Once again thank you.
Ns. Stefi and : Thankyou ma’am

Nurse Stefi and Nurse Reni back to work again. So that’s all the delegation
in Interna Room and all delegation who given by Nurse Manager and Nursing
Unit Manager and all the delegations given went smoothly.
