FOLKDANCE COMPETETION

Guidelines

A. Cast Members/Participants/Costumes
1. Each school must be represented by one group only.
2. There should be at least 3 pairs and a maximum of 5 pairs.
3. The literature of the Itik-Itik should be strictly followed.
4. Music must be in MP3 file.
5. Costume must be traditional Ilocano aesthetics with influences derived from the pre-
colonial periods.
6. Contingents are given a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum 6 minutes including
entrance and exit.
7. Props that can be only hold and carried are allowed to be used during the performance.
8. Pre-set is allowed.
9. After each performance, nothing should be left on the stage.
10. Real weapons are not allowed.
11. The following should not be used during the performance:
• confetti
• anything that has flame
• fireworks
• water, bubbles and other liquids

B. Judging
Performance (Mastery and Timing) 40%
Choreography and Style 40%
Stage Appearance & Overall Impact 20%
Total 100%

12. The decision of the judges shall be final and irrevocable.

DANIW
Guidelines

1. Each school must be represented by one participant only.

2. The contest piece to be used is the daniw titled “Iti Sidong ti Kayo”. No other contest
piece is allowed.
Iti Sidong ti Kayo

Bassit a bukel, naikali iti daga

Nagtubo, dimmakkel patingga nagbunga
Immadu ti bulongna
Inwarasna ti ingget kalawa

Ita dakkelen ti kayo, mangteden ti linong

Iti sidongna, presko nga angin ket umayamuong
Ubing a kas kaniak, tumangad no adda naluom
Naluom a bunga nga innak ibunong

Ubing a kas kaniak, taripatuen dagiti kayo

Dumteng ti layos, addada a mangsalbar kadatayo
Sagepsependa ti danum nga imburay ti bagyo
No maibusda, intayo pay agmula ti adu.

3. Costume and props of the participant depends on the creativity of the coach.
4. The judging criteria for the daniw recitation are:
 Mastery 40%
 Delivery 30%
 Diction 30%
Total 100%

5. The top 5 will be awarded as winners and will be given medals and certificates.
6. The decision of the judges shall be final and irrevocable.

QUIZ BEE
Guidelines

1. Each school must be represented by one participant only (from the top three winners).
2. It is a paper-pencil test which includes Mathematics, Science, MAPEH and Language.
3. The quiz consists of 30 items and Iluko will be the language of instruction to be used.
4. The top 5 participants who will garner the highest scores will be awarded as winners and
will be given medals and certificates.
5. In case of a tie, the concerned participants will be called for a tie-breaking question. The
first participant who will answer first will be automatically declared as the winner.

Guidelines

1. Each school must be represented by one pair only (boy and girl).
2. The candidates’ possible attire are as follows:
 School Uniform—The candidates will showcase their school’s pride
through their uniform.
 Indigenized costume—The theme will on environmental awareness.
3. Each pair should perform a talent in a maximum of 3 minutes only and is presented by
pair.
4. The following are the possible minor awards:
 Best in Uniform Carriage (Mr. & Ms.)
 Best Performer in the Production Number (Mr. & Ms.)
 Best in Talent (2 runners up)
5. The criteria for judging for the Search for Mr. & Ms. Kindergarten 2017:
Beauty/Good Looks 50%
Talent 25%
Question and Answer Ability 25%

Total 100%

6. The decision of the judges shall be final and irrevocable.
