Course Aims: Start your training at the Refrigeration and Climate Control Centre of
Excellence (RCCC), a nationally and internationally recognised training
facility.
This hands-on pre-apprenticeship will give you a broad understanding of the
Refrigeration and Air-conditioning industries.
You will learn how to use tools, electrical wiring and equipment of the trade
as well as identify various refrigerants.
During this course, you will learn flaring, welding, pressure testing and leak
testing in regard to refrigeration systems, and practical applications with
electrical apparatus and circuits.
On completion of this Certificate II pre-apprenticeship, you will receive a
White Card enabling you to work safely on a building site. This will give you a
better standing when applying for an apprenticeship with an employer. It will
set you on the path as a sole trader, or to working for a contracting company
with a career in refrigeration, air conditioning or appliance servicing.

Wednesday 1:30pm-5:30pm

On successful completion of this program the student will achieve:


Credit towards VCE/VCAL VCE: Students who complete 2261VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-
Vocational) (Specialising in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) are eligible
for four units of credit towards their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2 level and
2 Units at 3 and 4 level.
VCAL: This program contributes to the Industry Specific Skills Strand of VCAL.
Qualification: A Victorian recognised qualification: 22216VIC - Certificate II in
Electrotechnology (Specialising in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning)
