Alice Reyes - the legendary founder of Ballet Philippines.
Jose Feliciano - a prolific composer of over 30 major works who study music composition at
the University of the Philippines, the Hochschule der Kuenste in Berlin, Germany, and the Yale
University School of Music.
Antonio Buenaventura - e popularized folksongs by creating music based on the wide array of
folksongs from various ethnic groups in the Philippines.
Magdalena Gamayo - a textile weaver from Pinili, Ilocos Norte.
Federico Caballero - an epic chanter from Calinog, Iloilo who works for the documentation of
the oral literature, particularly the epics of his people.
Ginaw Bilog - a poet from Panaytayan,Oriental Mindoro who advocate of preserving the
traditional form of his tribe.
Severino Montano- one of the “Titans of Philippine Theater” who was an exceptional poet,
director, actor, and theater organizer.
Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero - he was a talented writer, director, educator, and artist who wrote a
number of outstanding plays, 41 of which were circulated.
Lamberto V. Avellana - he was dubbed as “The Boy Wonder of Philippine Movies” in 1939.
Rolando S. Tinio - a director, actor, educator, critic, translator, poet, and dramatist who was
known for translating Western classics into Tagalog.
Honorata “Atang” de la Rama - the Queen of the kundiman.
Daisy Avellana - First lady of Philippine theater.
Neorealism - a modern art movement that makes an artist take a subject and explore its
unknown qualities.
Cariñosa - A dance derived from the Spanish word that means “the loving or affectionate one.”
Tinikling - one of the oldest dances derived from the movements of the tikling bird as it
wanders on grass stems and crushes several branches of trees.
ROFG - a dance company that reflects the culture of Filipinos in dance and music.
