BOOK LAUNCHING EVENT 2020

Activity Announcement
Arrival of guests Ladies and gentlemen, before this ceremony begins, I would like to remind
all of you to switched off your phone or set it to the silent mode. Please be
reminded to all students to stand up when our Head of Department has
arrived. Thank you.

Introduction Announcing the arrival of our guest of honour for today,

Welcome to the Book Launching Event 2020.

 
Gratitude Praise to Allah SWT, we have been graced by the chance to gather in this
momentous ceremony.

Before we move on, let us begin with the recitation of du’a that will be led
by ________________________, from __________.

Thank you to ______________________ for the recitation of du’a just now.

Introduction of For your information, back in semester 6,we have taken the course Second
 the book. Language Acquisition taught by Dr. Quah Seok Hoon and Miss Yeoh Hee
Hee. One of the requirement is to interview the people around us on how
they acquire the second language.

The interesting results sparks the idea that we want to share this to wider
range of audiences, which is by publishing a book.

Every language learning experience is a story. This book "Malaysian

Second Language Learner Stories" is a collection of learning journeys of
Malaysians from various cultural backgrounds learning a second language.
Each story is a personal journey of learning and experiences encountered
by the learners in different corners of Malaysia, some in urban, sub-urban,
others in rather rural settings. Despite individual differences, these stories
foreground the key influencers in learning a second language in multilingual
Malaysia.

presence. We truly appreciate it.
