Dear Teachers,

Listed below are the guidelines for conducting online home-based learning program for our students:

1. Daily Syllabus should be short and simple so as not to overwhelm the parents who will execute the
activities. Content may include videos, ppt, and worksheets.
2. Use professional language at all times.
3. Monday Face-to-Face sessions will be devoted to check on your students and their parents and to
introduce the topics to them. Give parents tips on how they might be able to assist their child more
effectively. On Fridays, focus on asking students and parents their week’s study highlights. (Optional:
Record your video sessions so that families who missed your session can view it later. See No. 10
instruction.)
4. Observe proper grooming, dress appropriately and use a bare/uncluttered background wall for your
Face-to-Face Online consultations/video messaging.
5. You may create an FB/Messenger Group Chat with the following account name: ILLC Davao
(Section) (AM or PM). Invite all parents/guardians/students of that section. Include the ILLC
Directress in the GC.
6. Promptly reply to questions posted in the FB discussion board.
7. During video conferencing with the student/parents, you may “teach” or ask the students to
respond to a Banner Question related to your topic but refrain from expecting outputs from the
students to prevent their parents from getting stressed.
8. Make it optional for students to answer the worksheets if they cannot comply within the day. They
can take their own time within each week.
9. In the case of very dependent, non-verbal/behaviorally challenged students, your audience in fb
consultations will be mainly caregivers/ parents. They can ask their kids to participate if the kids are
capable. It may be helpful if the student will see your face.
10. As an alternative to live video conferencing, you video tape yourself in advance to give your
greetings, reminders and instructions and uploading these videos at the GC on or before the
consultation schedule.
11. Parents who cannot log in because they are busy may view the recording of the consultation session
at their own time. In the video, you will explain that due to connection issues, you have pre-
recorded your message but you will be online to answer questions via chat and that you will be
calling the students/parents individually. The idea behind the face chat/video is to make the session
more personal. Kids/parents seeing you on the screen will hopefully make them feel that they are
still in class and that you are the teacher. Video recording may be done twice a week only. Other
days will be to upload your Instructional Materials (IMs) and to reply to the kids’/parents’
questions/thoughts and to encourage them to comment in the GC.
12. Please be reminded that all IMs and video links and/or your pre-recorded messages) have to be sent
to me and to Teacher Lolyne for checking/approval, at least two days before uploading/sending.
13. We also require each teacher to remind the parents to settle their accounts online or direct deposit
to our bank account which we will provide later. We will amend our previous announcement in our
letter that they can set an appointment to pay at ILLC. They must pay online or by directly going to
their banks and deposit to our account. We will also give all teachers a copy of list of collectibles
from each student. If parents ask if they can waive tuition for March and April, we should
respectfully explain that schools typically maintain their payroll even during government- sanctioned
class suspensions. Moreover, teachers work from home as they monitor the students. In April,
teachers continue to work by preparing reports for PTC, etc.
14. If you need to make any announcements that will be beneficial to all parents, kindly inform me and I
will do the posting of the announcement at our FB page.
15. Attached is a template for your Work-At-Home Daily Report which should be submitted one day
after scheduled consultation with Parent/Guardian/Family Member or student. Please be reminded
that the Work-at-Home Daily Report shall be one of the basis of your work output for payroll
purposes. Kindly save your files with the following format for easier monitoring:

Work-at-Home Daily Report (Name of Teacher) (mm.dd.yy) (Name of student)

Ex: Work-at-Home Daily Report Jane Ann Gonzales 03.17.20 Juan dela Cruz
16. For the syllabus and worksheets, please use the following format in saving your files:
Syllabus (Name of Teacher) (mm.dd.yy) (Name of student/s)
Syllabus (Name of Teacher) (mm.dd.yy) (Name of student/s)

Let us all help one another in making this Online Home-based Learning Program work for the parents
and for us too. Please feel free to communicate with me your concerns.

Very truly yours,

JANE ANN S. GONZALES
