The Great Migration Poster Project

You have been hired by the British Government to create a poster that will persuade the
people of Britain to immigrate to Canada.
Part 1: The poster you design must:
 Include a catchy title
 Include reasons why people would be interested in moving. For example, the
government could offer free land and a year’s supply of grain per family.
 Have images that make sense to the time period. (The Great Migration was from
1815-1850)
 Have an appealing layout that is not too cluttered.
 Be coloured fully and neatly

Part 2: You must also hand in a ½ page write up with your poster, explaining the choices
you made in your design. This could include the reasons you chose to entice the people to
move, the images you chose to draw, or how successful you think your poster would be
in persuading the people to move to Canada.
