Scene 1: At School

(Annika nearly walking outside the gate)

Mika: Annika, where are you going?

Annika: (confused) Uhmm! Home? (unsure)

Mika: Are you not going home with us? (walks towards Annika)

Annika: (rolling her eyes) (talks softly) Of course I am going home with you but, I’m really in a hurry,
Mom is waiting for me and look (looking at her friends with smiles widely plastered on their faces) look
at them (trying to put Mika’s attention to their friends) they are still having fun and seems like, they
don’t want to go home yet and I guess, you’ll go somewhere to eat before you all go home. I’m really
sorry but, I have to go. (Kissed Mika’s cheeks and waved her hand at her) (Was about to walked out
when someone called her)

Dria: Ann! It’s still early, are you going home?”

Annika: (regret turning her head around but, didn’t let her friends see it) Uhmm!! Yes, my mom is
waiting for me and it’s getting late (looks up on the sky) so, I better get going now. Bye! (Again waved at
them)

Dria: Okay? Bye! (Unsure of what she said and also just waved her hand at Annika)

Scene 2: The next day, at school

Ae: Hey! Nika (shouting at Annika)

Annika: Oh! Hey! (Shouted back and walk towards her)

Ae: You were gone early yesterday, where did you go? (Curious)

(Ry appear out of nowhere)

Ry: Did your boyfriend called? (teasingly)

All (except Annika and Lay): Ehhh!!

(Annika gives them her death glare)

Lay: Guys! Stop teasing Saph, we all know she doesn’t have a boyfriend because – (Lay was cut off)

All (except Annika and Lay): Because her mom doesn’t want her to get into a relationship and her
prioritize is her studies, we get it. (in unison)
Annika: Good and by the way, thanks Lay for saving me that is why I love you. (Annika said sweetly and
almost laughing)

(Lay just smiled.)

Ae: So, Nika why didn’t you go home with us yesterday? (bringing back the topic while walking)

Ry: Because!!

(Annika cut Ry off before she teases her again)

Annika: Because, something came up, my mom was calling me so, I have to go home early, sorry, I didn’t
even bother to say goodbye to you guys.

All (except Annika): Its fine (unison)

(Bell rings)

Ry: We better go to our classes now before the terror teacher comes in (said jokingly)

(All laughed by Ry’s joke)

Scene 3: In the Classroom

(Bell rings) (Class ended)

Dria: Let’s go guys. (said in excitement)

Annika: Uhmm! Sorry guys, mom will get angry if I don’t go home early and besides we have tons of
assignments and projects to do, I’m really sorry maybe next time. (said in a hurry)

Dria: Ann, you can’t resist, we’re going to the mall, it’s your favorite, and the projects are due next week,
why bother? (forcing Annika to come with them)

Annika: I’m really sorry guys but, maybe next time, bye. (started kissing their cheeks and walks away)

All (except Annika): Bye (they said in unison and smiled while also waving at Annika)

(Annika turned her head around and smiled)

Scene 4: At Home

Annika: Mom, I’m home!

Annika’s Mom: At last, where on earth did you go? I’ve been calling you, now go to your room and do all
your assignments and projects (angrily)

Annika: Yes Mom (walk towards her room)

Scene 5: After a week, in the classroom

(Arranging their things)

Dria: Hurry up Mika, the concert starts about a minute now. (helps Mika arrange her things)

Annika: Guys! What concert is that? You didn’t even bother to tell me? (said jokingly while walking
towards them)

Ae: Even though we’ll tell you, you won’t even bother to go with us, because you’re to focus on your
studies that you forget about us!! (angrily)

Lay: Cut it Ae, Saph just wants to be on top that is why she is so focus on her studies.

(Ae rolled her eyes.)

Dria: Let’s go guys, Saph doesn’t want to be disturbed. (Dria said not looking at Annika)

(Annika look at Lay and mouthed ‘Thank you’)

Annika: At least there’s someone who understands me. (whispered sadly to herself)

Scene 6: School Canteen

Annika: Uhmm! Guys! Can we talk? (said shyly) Guys! Can we talk? (Annika repeat when she didn’t get
any response but, this time it was louder enough for them to hear her)

Ae: Sure, if you want to talk then talk. (still mad)

Annika: (looks around) PRIVATELY

(Her friends rolled their eyes and followed her)

Scene 7: School Garden

Annika: Well (looks on the ground) (not sure what to say)

Dria: Hurry up, Nika! WE still have a concert to catch on. (emphasizes the word WE)

Annika: Well, I don’t know where to begin with but – (cut off by Ry)

Ry: You can begin, by saying ‘sorry’.

Lay: Will you stop Ry? (irritated)

(Ry rolled her eyes at Lay)

Annika: As I said, before Ry cut me off, (looks at Ry and Ry just rolled her eyes at Annika) I don’t know
where to begin with, but I would like to say I’m sorry. (Sincerely)

Annika: Not that I blame my mom, but it’s the same way, mom was pressuring me. Not to blame Mika
too, (looks at Mika) but, before you came I was always in top one, and my parents were all proud of me
and I was happy by that but, when you (looking at Mika), Mika came I became top two. And that is
where it all started, Mom wants me to be always on top, not top two (acts number two on her hand)
neither does top three (acts number three on her hand) but on top, top one (acts number one on her
hand). (looks on the ground) I did all my best but, I guess my best wasn’t enough and by that, my
parents wasn’t happy for me being top two but, I was. (looks at her friends) I’m really, really sorry guys, I
didn’t know that by focusing too much on my studies will ruin our friendship. (tears trying to escape on
her eyes)

Annika: I promise, if ever I have problem besides my family, you will be the first one to know, I’m really
sorry.

Dria: We’re really sorry too, we should have known. (hugs Annika)

Ae: Yeah! If I have known earlier, I would have not been mad at you, I’m sorry too. (guilty) (hugs
Annika,too)

Annika: It’s fine.

Ry: Group hug!

(laughs at Ry while hugging)
