ABSTRACT 

This  paper  proposes  an  innovation  to an existing self-healing glass which is 

accidentally  invented  in  Japan  by  a  graduate  school  student,  Yu  Yanagisawa. 

Researchers  say  that  it  could  be  potentially  use  in  applicable  for  touch  screens 

phones  and  other  fragile  devices.  (Aida,  T.  et  al)  Working  on  a  research, 

“polyether-thioureas”  which  is  a  glass  that  is  made  of  low  weight  polymer  can 

heal  itself  when  pressed  together  by  hand  without  the  need  for  high  heat  to 

melt the material.  It can regain its’ strength after couple of hours. Although most 

researches  apply  to  phone  screens,  the  main  goal  of  the  study  is  to  widen  the 

scope  of  its’  use  through  incorporating  it  as  a  new  face  of  our  windows  and 

sooner will conquer the architecture and building construction world.
