Submissions: Your assignment must be submitted to the appropriate folder in DC Connect on the due date and by the
time indicated above. No hardcopies will be accepted.
Assignment objective: To set meaningful goals to assist you to gain the experience, skills, and knowledge you
want and need to help you in your future career path. As you know, Music Business Practicum is designed to help
you realize what you might want to do (and NOT want to do!) in the music industry and to get some practical
experience by actively participating in, contributing to, and growing our on-campus industry. The music industry is
demanding, and setting goals will help you learn to set and meet professional and personal expectations. This course
gives you a chance to experiment but you will learn more when you focus on what you want to try and what you want
to learn.
Carefully consider the learning experience you want to have in Music Business Practicum this semester and create
your goals accordingly. Your goals must pertain to the Music Business Practicum course ONLY, not to other
courses in the program. Use this course to explore and develop a range of knowledge and skills, and to learn more
about yourself and working with others. Goals help you to be focused, to be consistent and specific, to increase your
commitment, and to enhance your self-esteem. Use goals to help you achieve the vision you have of your future.
