INPUT & OUTPUT DEVICES: -

# INPUT DEVICES :- The parts of computer which allow helps to feed data, commands, instructions into the
computer are called Input devices.

Ex:- KEYBOARD, MOUSE , LIGHT PEN ,JOYSTICK, MICROPHONE, TOUCHPAD, SCANNER, DIGITAL
CAMERA, GRAPHIC TABLET, WEBCAM etc.

# OUTPUT DEVICES:- The parts of computer which show the result of our work done on computer are known
as Output Devices.

Ex:- MONITOR, SPEAKERS, HEADPHONES, PRINTERS, PROJECTORS , PLOTTERS,

VIDEO CARDS, SOUND CARDS etc.

Some latest Techniques of Computer System:-

1. OMR:- Optical Mark Reader reads symbols, marks and converts them into readable form.
It is used to check multiple choice question papers.

2. OCR:- Optical Character Recognition technique is used to read printed ,typed or hand
written text . It is used in reading of airline tickets, banking.

MICR:- Magnetic Ink character Recoginition is used to read the characters and
changes them into codes. It is used to read cheques, demand drafts and other
vouchers.

Artificial Intelligence ( AI):- It is an area of

computer science that works and reacts like
humans. It can recognize speech, solve
problems etc.
EX;- ALEXA , SIRI etc.
# PRINTER & ITS TYPES
Printer is an output device which gives the printed output. The speed of printer is measured in CPS ( characters per
second), lPM( lines per minute ) or PPM ( pages per minute).Printers are of two types:- IMPACT & NON-IMPACT
PRINTERS

Most commonly used printers:- Dot matrix ( Impact ), Laser & Inkjet printer.

Inkjet printer is the most commonly used colored printer.
