Severe punishments are the only way to cut crime in our country

A crime is an unlawful act punishable by a state or other authority.

Today, we meet up with many cases of crimes, no matter where,
when or how. I think it is very sad because people actually choose to
be evil rather than good. The most common crimes in my country are
burglaries, corruptions, and robbery. One of the reasons this is
possible is because of the condition in the state. It is very bad and as I
mentioned there is much corruption and bribe in my country.

I dont agree much with this topic because there are other ways to
stop crimes. But of course, this too is the way for stopping crimes.
People would get scared if they had stricter punishments for the
crimes they did, specially in our goverment. Since people here seek
for the better condition in the country, I think they would like to have
severe punishments for the crimes. We have few types of
punishments like rehabilitation, retribution, incapacitation and
deterrence. As I said, I do not agree completely with this topic. I think
evil can't be stopped by another evil. I think if we had better
qualifications for living, the crime would drop a lot. But if we do
punishments on people who did crimes, we would not change them
on to better. If we show them in a good way they made a mistake,
maybe they would understand the mistake more. But of course,
there are some types of crimes who can't be forgiven such as rapes
or murders. Since most of the people who do crimes are actually
mentally sick, I think they would need some kind of institution where
people actually can try and help other mentally sick people.

In my opinion, I dont think severe punishments are the only way to

stop crime in our country. Increasing the severity of punishment does
little to deter crime. More severe punishments do not chasten
individuals convicted of crimes.
