Warm up 1 tricky touch down

Instructions 1. 2 students line up on cones diagonal to each other


2. Student A has the ball and runs to the middle of the square where Student B
meets them and runs to one side, causing student A to run the opposite direction
and taps the floor scoring a “try”
3. Student A passes the ball to student B who now join the opposite cone and start
again

Transition Transforming from 7x7m to 15m for the following drill. Have 2 cones stacked on the
far cones and have a player pick up a cone and take 5 steps out to create a 15m
rectangle.

defender, puts the ball down and clears.
3. Student B comes through and scoops up the ball
4. Students to complete 4 times up and down the cones

Instructions 1. Students stand in a line of 3 on cone 1


2. Student A runs to the first cone and puts the ball on the floor then clears
3. Student B scoops up the ball and pops to the student C running next to them
4. Student C runs on the right side of the player and receives the ball from student B
then runs to the next cone and becomes student A. 

Repeat

Extend to stage 2 of the drill - Dummy half rule


1. 3 students stand in a line of 3 on cone 1, 1 student stand on cone 2
2. Student A runs to the first cone and puts the ball on the floor then clears
3. Student B scoops up the ball and pops to the student running next to them
4. Student C runs on the right side of the player as a dummy half

Variations & Extension:


Extensions Add a pass with a student running on the other side and then students set this drill up
again

2. Both teams run around the far cone and set up play in the square. Student in
middle is defender and 2 students aim to get past the defender.
