A poem and half-sheet practices to help

students remember and master this

concept!
Why We Have Seasons
The Earth has its seasons due to its axial tilt,
I’m not sure just why, but it’s how the planet’s built.
With regards to the sun, ignore how far or how near,
It’s the tilt of the Earth that changes seasons of the year.
When the axis points away, cold winter’s here to stay.
When it points toward the sun, it’s time for summer fun.
When neither axis points there, it’s not extreme at all.
The seasons are so nice; we call them spring and fall.
So in the north or the south, pay attention to the poles.
For where they point will tell you how to dress for outside goals.
