This standard operating procedure outlines the steps to operate a moisture balance to determine the moisture content of a sample. The steps include cleaning the equipment, connecting it to a power supply, placing a pre-weighed sample in a dish, setting the appropriate temperature, weighing the sample after heating to calculate moisture content, and turning off the instrument.

2. Connect the instrument power cord mains plug to main supply socket having 220 Volt /50 stabilized power supply with proper earthing connection. 3. Placed the previously weighed sample in the aluminum dish. 4. ON the heating bulb and set the appropriate temperature using temperature knob. 5. After the prescribed time period , again weigh the sample for calculating the % moisture content. 6. After completion of the required time, switch OFF the instrument.
