OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Director, AcSIR has approved that in view of the current situation on account of COVID-19, all
classes, presentations, DAC meetings and Comprehensive Examinations, field visits for
experiments, Societal Program etc. of AcSIR students stand suspended upto March 31, 2020.

All PhD Oral Examinations (POE) upto March 31, 2020, if already fixed, must be conducted
by Skype or Video Conferencing only. Unless very urgent, viva should not be fixed upto March
31, 2020. If viva has to be conducted in any highly emergent case, the gathering should not
exceed 10 people including the student and supervisors and be conducted in a big
hall/auditorium with people sitting far apart from each other. "Congratulations" to the student
to be conveyed from a distance and only by words without any handshake. Close by picture
shots & selfies should also be avoided.

All other precautions should also be taken in their best format for the good of all our people.

The students must strictly follow all the instructions issued by their respective Labs as a
precautionary measure to combat COVID-19.
