REFLECTION PAPER
SUBMITTED BY: MARIE CRIS K. DELA CERNA
SUBMITTED TO: DR. GINA LABITAD

The mode of learning that thrives today in our subject is one of the best sides of being quarantined.
Thanks to technology that bridge the gaps to our physical distance. Thanks to the capability of the individual to
quickly respond to the test of time and lastly thanks to our professor, Dr. Gina Labitad for giving us this
unique opportunity to learn via video conferencing.

Video conferencing is not a new thing for me! What is new to me is the fact that vidcon could be
a medium of teaching and learning. I find it strange and awkward, but I was wrong! It’s an amazing
virtual experience, an astonishing realization revealing us the significant contribution of technology
as educators’ partners in the teaching and learning process. Thus, I feel the privilege to be
accommodated in this subject, INTERACTIVE TOOLS IN TEACHING.
It is another “eye-opener,” another breaking a ground reality for the teachers to be globally
competitive. The subject is a reminder to everybody that LEARNING is always changing and
progressing. Therefore, teachers’ versatility is highly essential to cater to the needs of every unique
21stcentury learner. Teachers never stop in search of knowledge, in hunting principles of teaching, in
quest of suitable teaching tools that would address the varying needs of the modern learners. All of
these things may define the essence of being a global TEACHER!
Gone are the days for the traditional teaching! Globalization is truly inevitable, and the only way
to cope with it is to embrace its beauty, appreciate its significance and stay away from its negativity.
As a member of the DepED family, we are tasked to impart global education that would promote
global awareness and responsibility. We are called to educate the learners the way it should be, we
are mandated to be the catalyst of positive change and expected to gear up the learners to the real
world of the 21st century.
Being a teacher, it is my utmost desire to be able to make a significant touch in the lives of every
learner. My only way to do it is to be selfless…to God be the glory!
