The processes that take place in the canteen department are that they sell food and refreshments,

the food they


offer include sadza, rice, chicken & beef which can be served for lunch. For breakfast they serve tea and bread
with eggs. Employees and outside customers or visitors buy their food using cash and the receipts they get are
produced manually and they order their food through phone call or go to the canteen and place their order.
There are tables and chairs in the canteen for the employees and outside clients to eat their food. The receipt
book or daily invoices are given to the Human Resources Officer. It is against this background that I got
interested to come up with a system for CMED (Pvt) Ltd which will address the problems stated below:

Monte Cassino library system is currently using a manual system which is not performing according to what
the school administration expects
A lot of books have gone missing and the librarian cannot even account for those books.
The Fines that the user of the library are paying cannot be accounted for as there is no proper recording of
overdue books and the amount of money paid as fine.

Also, the existing system only provides text-based interface. In case the network is down or facing some
other challenges the tickets being saved on the server cannot be retrieved or accessed. There is a lot of
repetition of ticket numbers as a result of data failed to be accessed.
It is difficult to track invoices and generate timely reports. There is limited security on the system as
tickets are kept in folders, which can be accessed by any canteen staff.
The current system does not support either prepaid or postpaid payment of meals by the employees. It
does not support the use of credit cards.
