Why Village of Hope wants to use social media:


a. Sharing News: Share good things that are happening at the Village and update
followers about events.
b. Education about the Cause and Mission: Continually share with followers what
exactly the VOH does, along with mission statement, vision statement and values.
(Idea: Create Instagram highlights to showcase “Our Mission” “Our Vision” “Our
Values” and maybe “Our Team.”) (Idea: create fun fact posts maybe including
statistics about the success of participants in the program) (Idea: employee
spotlights? Sharing who members of the team are and exactly what they do) (Idea:
participant spotlights)
c. Fundraising: Use social media to encourage donations. (Idea: use Instagram
story “donate” button. Set up this feature if not already) (Idea: create visually
attractive infographic about the donation items that may be needed at the time,
good for Instagram and Facebook)
d. Volunteer Recognition/Recruitment: Use social media to encourage followers
to donate their time. (Idea: if possible, create short videos with current volunteers
asking them why they chose to donate their time to VOH) (Idea: create visually
appealing informational posts that detail what exactly volunteers can get involved
with and direct followers to where they can go to sign up or get more information)
e. Donor Recognition: Share posts thanking donors for their generous donations.
(Idea: donor spotlight posts recognizing a generous donor each month?)
