1.

After watching the LinkedIn Videos on the previous page what are the five most
important points that stood out to you and why they are helpful in creating a strong
LinkedIn profile and personal brand?

The strongest point that I thought was keeping your LinkedIn up to date. It is
definitely like a resume where you want to make sure all employment holes have
a reason. Your summary is very important. It is very hard to talk about yourself.
It is best to talk in first person to create a more personal profile. Keep your
summary short and to the point. To me, this is similar to a objective on a resume.
You want to keep it short and sweet.

Using LinkedIn to find a job is interesting. The goal is to find high quality job
opportunities. The most important concept here was to change your privacy
settings. You want to make sure employers know you are looking for work. The
second important concept to me for obtaining a job is to follow people you know
and follow companies you may want to work for. Connecting to companies you
hope to have a future with makes it so opportunities may arise.

2. How you can you apply those five points to create your own profile and brand?

The five points that I have found most important will be easy to highlight on my
LinkedIn profile. The first being that I will make sure my profile is up to date with
all of my work experience, volunteer work, etc. The second being that I will write
my summary to be in the first person. This will make it simpler for me to talk
about myself as well as make me seem more personable. The third being that my
summary should be short and sweet. I will try my hardest to keep my summary to
the most important aspects.

The last two points come with how to obtain a job with LinkedIn. The first point
here is to change my privacy settings to employers know I am potentially looking
for work. This will also be easy to change once I am no longer looking. The second
here is to connect with companies I hope to work for. I have followed quite a few
employers I want to look at my profile.

3. What do  you believe  your personal brand is and how do you think colleagues
perceive both your positive and negative characteristics?

My personal brand I would say is that I love to work for companies and stay for as
long as possible. I love to learn many roles in a company to become well versed in
the requirements of all roles. I believe that this makes me more hire-able in many
companies.

My positive characteristics definitely include that I want to learn everything I can

in a company. I also worry that doing multiple roles makes it so people feel that I
am never happy with my current role.

4. What steps could you take to improve your personal brand in person and online?
Improving my personal brand would mean that I need to keep my profile as up to
date as possible. I want all future employers to know what roles I have learned
which have hopefully made me more well rounded. In person, I hope that when I
have learned more roles, I will be more understanding of other departments. In
my current work setting, I have worked in nursing, social services, and business
office. This has made me more well rounded and more capable of assisting other
departments when they need the help.

5. What is an  example of how your personal brand affects your career and future
employment opportunities?

My personal brand as I stated before makes it so I am more well rounded.

Because of the different roles I have done in my current work environment, I was
able to obtain my current job. I know the “language” of my place of work.
