Many parents encourage young people to leave home when they become older, while others think

they should stay at home with the family.

Nowadays a lot of people plan on living independently since the age of 18. But everybody should think
carefully before deciding on a move like this because it might be a turning point in their lives. Of course,
there are a lot of different advantages and disadvantages when you live independently.

To start with, living on your own can be really good since you are independent. For example, you can do
anything you want without asking your parents. That means you can invite your friends anytime and
make house parties. Moreover, it is also a chance for young people to build their personality and
become more mature.

An additional advantage of independent life is that your space is your space. When you live alone there
is no need to share anything. You’ll never carry about this thing. One more good thing is that you can
focus on your studying without being distracted.

In contrast, when you live alone one of the biggest disadvantages is lack of company. Most of the people
enjoy being alone, but not most of the time. What is more - when a person decides to live alone, then
they need to be sure of safety in that particular place. Eventually, lack of safety can create greater
issues.

Taking everything into account, living on your own is not an easy thing to deal with. But if you want to
be independent, then this way of living is the right choice for you. Personally, I think the advantages of
living alone outweigh the drawbacks.
