Lesson idea implementation

Building upon previous lessons that were developed out of student’s interests, the teacher will observe and
facilitate discussion on the topic of food groups. This lesson will continue beyond this point as the food web
grows. Student’s learning will be assessed through instruction, observation, documentation and reflection
using this productivity tool and other means. Their final product will serve to impact their behaviors and those
in their sphere. They will listen to the teacher expound the benefits of eating healthy foods and making right
choices. Padlet, the productivity tool, is used to demonstrate their understanding of the topic. The teacher will
incorporate the use of the white board with Padlet; therefore, this is the avenue through which students will
then interact with Padlet. With teacher’s aid they can pull their desired preferences into the Padlet wall to
form their diet plan. Student can manipulate the doodle tool and others to create their products. The
interaction will ignite eagerness to new topics and ideas. This tool will aid in building vocabulary and
strengthening communication skill. As previously mentioned, this lesson will be extended as the food web
grows. As they build on their knowledge, the tool allows new data to be installed.
Reflective Practice: Students will be equipped with the knowledge to make healthy food choices. They will be
able to share this information with others. This is an enjoyable lesson that incorporates on average, gifted and
ESL students and can be extended beyond school using other productivity tools available at home. With the
