Evidence: What will have happened by then?

You are going to think carefully about the future. You need to consider a few
topics and, then, describe the events that will have happened by certain time
around these topics.

For this evidence, you will need to complete two parts. For Part A, you need to
write three texts describing your expectations around some of the most
important sport events that take place during a year time. Then, for Part B, you
will have to record a tape in which you talk about your own future in relation to
certain professional and personal aspects.

Let’s begin!

Part A

Look at the following calendar. It shows four important sport events that will take
place next year. You will need to write a text in which you predict the results for
each of the sporting majors.

The Super Bowl (American Football) Augusta - The Championships (Golf)

Wimbledon (Tennis) The World Series (Baseball)
Now, write three texts that include your sporting predictions for three of the
sporting events in the calendar. You can carry out a little research about each of
the events in order to gather information before writing; or, you can also be very
imaginative and create the whole setting for each of your writings. One example
has been done for you.
The Super Bowl
By February 1st next year, one of the most
important events in the world of sport, The
Super Bowl, will have taken place in Arizona
(USA). I’m sure the New England Patriots, will
win the Super Bowl next year because they
have had a great season so far. Their
Quarterback, Tom Brady, has had some very
good games during the regular season and the
team has beaten several big rivals; such as the
Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos.
The playoffs will take place in January. I think
that by mid-January the Patriots will have
beaten the Broncos again in order to reach the
final. I believe the Packers, another great team,
will be on the final by February 1st, too;
however, as the Patriots are the most
consistent of teams, I am sure that by the end
of the day, they will have won the big game and
will be crowned Super Bowl champions.
Wimbledon
By June 28 next year, one of the most
important events in the world of sports,
Wimbledon, will have taken place in
London, England (United Kingdom). I am
sure that in the singles category Novak
Djokovic and Simona Halep will win next
year because they have consecutively
won the championship, they are actually
very good despite having good opponents.
Although a good competition can be
presented if Roger Federer, who has a
medal record in the championship,
participates. For the other year, I am sure
that both tennis players will be classified
immediately in the final and will win the
silver trophy and the Rosewater Dish,
respectively, again, we will see if they beat
a record.
Part B
Augusta – The Championship
By April 19 of next year, one of the most important
events in the world of golf, Augusta - The
Championship, will have taken place in Augusta,
Georgia (USA). I am sure Tiger Woods will win the
green jacket next year because he has had a
great season since winning last year. Tiger has
managed to beat the tournament in two
consecutive editions and has beaten several great
rivals; like Johnson, D. and Schauffele. For the
other year, I think the competition will be strong,
as great golfers like Koepka and Day will be on the
field, who have achieved a score exactly equal to
that of Johnson and Schauffele, which will be too
exciting for the championship. Finally, I believe
that all bets will be in favor of the great Tiger
Woods for being the one that has been most
constant in his training and successes.
The World Series
By October 21 of next year, one of the
most important events in the world of
sports, The World series, will have taken
place in North America. I'm sure the New
York Yankees will win again next year
despite losing to the Washington
Nationals last year. The competition will
be impressive next year, like every
season, expecting the best to win, which
in this case, I think will be the New York
Yankees. In the regular season, the
Washington Nationals may win, earning
them the home advantage, but equally
for me the winner would be the Yankees
for their professionalism and league
significance.
Read the following topics. Think carefully about all the aspects concerning you
future in relation to the topics on the list. Then, structure a short talk (about 3
minutes) in which you express your predictions about each of the topics in
mention.

 Your plans for this evening.

 Your plans for the rest of the week.
 Your next birthday.
 How your life will be different in the years’ time.

Now, record your tape. Describe each of the events you predicted
chronologically based on the order in which each of the situations will happen.
Be as creative as possible.

For tonight I will be with my friends, we will go to a party in the pink zone of Bogotá
and we will have a lot of fun, we will also dance and talk. Then we will go to a
friend's house to sleep and we will be there until the next day. Then, for the rest of
the week, I will go to work, there I will learn new things like every day, I will meet
new people and I will have new ideas to contribute to work. I will come home and I
will be with my family talking about the day to day, we will laugh, have dinner and
go to bed to start a new day. Next Wednesday I will see my best friend and we will
go to lunch because she has invited me, because next May 7th it will be my
birthday, a great event for me, my friends and my family, because we will all get
together to celebrate it, surely this This year will be much better than the last, as I
will be 25 years old, a quarter of a century to celebrate in the best way. The
following years, I will be with my family traveling and meeting, maybe I will meet
someone on the way and I will get married, I will have a family of my own and I will
be very happy, but before that, I will have graduated from the university in the
career of Economics, I will have I have a master's degree in Social and Migration
Projects and I will have a good job.
