Evidence: What will have happened by then?

You are going to think carefully about the future. You need to consider a few
topics and, then, describe the events that will have happened by certain time
around these topics.

For this evidence, you will need to complete two parts. For Part A, you need to
write three texts describing your expectations around some of the most
important sport events that take place during a year time. Then, for Part B, you
will have to record a tape in which you talk about your own future in relation to
certain professional and personal aspects.

Let’s begin!

Part A

Look at the following calendar. It shows four important sport events that will take
place next year. You will need to write a text in which you predict the results for
each of the sporting majors.

Now, write three texts that include your sporting predictions for three of the
sporting events in the calendar. You can carry out a little research about each of
the events in order to gather information before writing; or, you can also be very
imaginative and create the whole setting for each of your writings. One example
has been done for you.
The Super Bowl
By February 1st next year, one of the most
important events in the world of sport, The
Super Bowl, will have taken place in Arizona
(USA). I’m sure the New England Patriots, will
win the Super Bowl next year because they
have had a great season so far. Their
Quarterback, Tom Brady, has had some very
good games during the regular season and the
team has beaten several big rivals; such as the
Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos.
The playoffs will take place in January. I think
that by mid-January the Patriots will have
beaten the Broncos again in order to reach the
final. I believe the Packers, another great team,
will be on the final by February 1st, too;
however, as the Patriots are the most
consistent of teams, I am sure that by the end
of the day, they will have won the big game and
will be crowned Super Bowl champions.
Wimbledon
This tournament is the oldest in tennis, it
has been held for more than a thousand
years, in London, it usually takes place in
the months of June and July. It has the
particularity that it is unique, it is carried
out on the grass directly, this tournament
allows the participation of all categories,
groups, individual, youth, mixed, even
retired players over 35 years old. Although
it generally lasts 2 weeks on average, Brits
and foreigners enjoy turning the
tournament into a local holiday. Its players
have as a rule that clothing is 100% white
for both men and women.
Augusta - The Championships (Golf)

Championship
This famous golf tournament is held
annually on the first Sunday in April,
generally, for next year we hope to have
great players, a great competition among
themselves, due to the pandemic many
have maintained the practice on their
own land or near their home, this
tournament that takes place in Georgia,
had a new record last year by the player
Dustin Johnson (2020), who aspires to
improve his record and in the case of
other players the idea is to overcome it,
Georgia is preparing with all protocols
and necessary measures, it is a beautiful
game that unites families.
The World Series
This beautiful baseball tournament is
based in the United States and Canada,
it has been played for decades, the
largest participation is from the male
gender, the team with the highest
number of tournaments won is the New
York Yankees, known as the fall classic
that It is played for the month of October,
this series today has radio and television
transmission, which is a great advantage
for those who cannot travel or buy tickets
to sports venues, they have had an
average of 40 million of speactors, which
obviously moves the economies of these
two great countries.
Part B

Read the following topics. Think carefully about all the aspects concerning you
future in relation to the topics on the list. Then, structure a short talk (about 3
minutes) in which you express your predictions about each of the topics in
mention.

 Your plans for this evening.

 Your plans for the rest of the week.
 Your next birthday.
 How your life will be different in the years’ time.

Now, record your tape. Describe each of the events you predicted
chronologically based on the order in which each of the situations will happen.
Be as creative as possible.

When you finish your work, send the files to your instructor through the
