2. INTRODUCTION:

Alaknanda Cruise

A new luxury cruise service started in Varanasi recently and would ferry tourist

from Assi chat to Rajghat and back.

It has two stories: lower is air conditioned and upper has a restaurant.

It would cost Rs 750/- per person to enjoy the trip in this cruise.

Timings would be Sunrise tour , sunset tour with Ganga aarti and afternoon tour

(which can be booked for corporate meetings, kitty parties etc).

Alaknanda cruise is all set to give you a tour of the ghats in Varanasi

Double-decked modern liner

In an effort to promote tourism, Varanasi has started a 5-star luxury tourist cruise

at Khidkiya Ghat, on September 2. The vessel named Alaknanda, is the first ever

luxury cruise that will ferry passengers around all the 84 ghats. The 30-metre long

double-decked modern liner, can ferry up to 110 passengers. The service is started

by Varanasi-based start-up venture Nordic Cruiseline.

The cruise consists of latest navigational systems and onboard GPS, free WiFi, a

skid-proof afterdeck, four bio-toilets.

Lower deck is air-conditioned

It is fully AV-equipped mini-stage on the lower deck, and a host of stringent safety

features, personnel, and equipment. The lower deck is air-conditioned, while the

upper deck is open only to the sides.

A trip for two hours daily

The cruise will make a trip for two hours daily in the morning and evening. It will

start from Assi Ghat and end its journey at the same point after covering a distance

of 12 kilometers.

A fare of Rs 750 plus GST per passenger

A representative of the cruise operator has said that initially the charges would be

around Rs 750 plus GST per passenger for the ride. "We are ready for the launch of

this service. As soon as we get the go ahead we can start the service. We have

timed both morning and evening cruises in a manner which leaves whole daytime

free to the tourists for doing other activities or visiting other places of interest,"

said Vikas Malviya, one of the directors of the Varanasi-based start-up venture

Nordic Cruiseline told TOI.

3. SCOPE OF STUDY:
To keep things in mind that as the ever changing competitive business

environment. New thoughts and ideas should pour into its, Research &

Development to innovate its existing products which should be beyond competitors

comprehension through by consumer purchase.

This study enables the user with answer to formulate an effective marketing

strategy with a broader prospective to tap areas where it did not feel the need

earlier, hence the decision of whether to penetrate this section or not can be found

out at the end of the data analysis.

It also gives an idea of the potential of our business in the future & the fluctuation

in prices from time to time& from product to product.

Special reference is made to the improvement of ability of product in terms of

packaging& product innovations & advertisement always means to cut down

competitors.
