TEN AMENDMENTS
The Bill of Rights, the first 10 Amendments to the United
States Constitution was created on September 25, 1789 and
ratified on December 15, 1791.

Right to keep and bear arms


in order to maintain a well
regulated militia.

Freedom of religion, speech,


press, assembly, and petition.

Freedom from unreasonable


searches and seizures.

No quartering of soldiers.

Rights of accused persons,


e.g., right to a speedy and
public trial.

Right to due process of


law, freedom from self-
incrimination, double
jeopardy.

Freedom from excessive bail,


cruel and unusual
punishments.

Right of trial by jury in civil


cases.

Powers reserved to the


states.
