5. SAE Description:
6. Program Area:
Entrepreneurship
5. SAE Description: For my SAE I have used the money received in a SAE grant to purchase two
heifers, in which I have obtained for a year now, bred and calved this past year. I now have one
heifer calf, and one bull calf in addition to the cows that I purchased. I have them in with my
families herd of cattle, and owe feed and living expenses to my grandfather each month.
7. Current Progress with Records: Up to date on AET, submitted work to state for state
proficiency and placed silver.
8. Student goals for SAE: My ultimate goal for my SAE is to have a herd of 100 or more head of
cattle, however, this may come with some gaps in between as I raise funding for more head. It
will take some time to accumulate such a herd, but it would be a dream come true for me!
9. Parents’/Guardians’ Wishes for the Student: To learn the cost and financial burdens of running
and managing a cattle herd, while also finding joy and peace in what you do.
