    Week beginning 4th May

    This week we will focus on Shape.


    These are 2D shapes. Look carefully at them. Can
    you name all of them? Now talk about their
    properties, e.g. number of edges and number of
    vertices(corners)…
    Lesson 1
    Can you label these shapes? You can write the name in
    the shape or say the name.
    Lesson 2
    Do you know the properties?
    Lesson 3
    So far we have looked at regular shapes. Can you name
    these irregular shapes? Count the sides of each shape
    to give you a clue. E.g. all shapes with 3 sides are
    triangles, all shapes with 5 sides are pentagons etc…
    3D Shapes
    Now we will learn about 3D shapes. Look closely at
    these 3D shapes. Can you name them? Now talk about
    their properties e.g. a cube has 6 faces, 8 vertices
    (corners) and it is different to a cylinder because it
    doesn’t have a curved face…

    Lesson 4
    Can you label or talk about the properties of these
    shapes?

    Lesson 5
    Now try to find 3D shapes around your home. Can you
    sort them into groups, take a photo and send it to us!
