Reflection:
The topic of the lesson was about homework and I taught grade six general students. The
learning objectives were objectives were first, to recognize the difference between the
advantages and disadvantages. Second, to listen and understand the overall meaning of simple
texts on familiar topics. Third, to listen and identify specific information. I began the lesson by
asking the students some oral questions about the homework to attract their attention. Then, I
explained the meaning of the advantages and disadvantages terms and clarified the difference
between them. After that, I applied two assessments relevant to my learning objectives and I
believe that they allowed me to achieve them by the end of the lesson. During the formative
assessment in which students needed to write some disadvantages and advantages points about
the homework. Students were engaged and they were able to perform task correctly.

I think this was because I linked their prior knowledge with the new concepts and this was one
of my strength points. Students already knew the bad and good things about homework, so
based on that I introduced the new terms (advantages and disadvantages). In addition, during
summative assessment in which students needed to listen to an audio record to answer the
questions about it. I was able to achieve my other objectives through allowing them to listen and
identify specific information to perform the task correctly. The majority of students were able
to perform the assessment and I believe this was because I considered my learning objectives to
prepare the appropriate activities that were relevant to them.

On the other hand, I did some mistakes during this lesson. I did not mention my learning
objectives to give the students an idea about what they are going to learn. Moreover, I did not
use any visual aids such as pictures and videos to enhance the low-level students'
comprehension process of the new terms. Thus, in my future teaching, I will write my learning
objectives on the board to allow students to get an idea about what they are going to cover in
each lesson. Furthermore, I will use some visual aids to support students' learning process.
