Reflection:
The topic of the lesson was future plans (practicing the present continuous) and I taught grade
six general students . My learning objectives were to listen and understand the overall meaning
of simple texts. To identify specific words or phrases and to write short paragraph using present
continuous. I started my lesson reviewing the present continuous tense that students learned in
their previous lesson. Then, I played an audio record and allowed students to perform the first
activity in their book as groups in which they needed to select the key words that Maryam and
Tariq mentioned. At the end of the lesson, I asked the students to write their next week plans
using the present continuous. The majority of students were able to write their plans correctly,
which made sure that I achieved my learning objectives.

When I reviewed the present continuous, I differentiated my questions according to students'

levels, which was one of my strength points. Both lower achievers and higher achievers
participated with me actively to answer my questions. In addition, during the second formative
assessment, I allowed the students to work in groups to support each other and share their ideas
and this was the second point of my strengths. Cooperative assessments provide the
opportunities for students to practice teamwork to gain leadership skills (Kelly, 2018).
Moreover, the summative assessment I applied gave the students a chance to improve their
writing and grammar skills in through writing short paragraph using the present continuous.

However, I need to improve several areas. Firstly, I did not implement any learning games to
motivate students to learn. Secondly, I did not apply any positive reinforcement strategy to
encourage students to participate. Also, I had some grammar mistakes. Therefore, in my future
lessons, I will apply at least one learning game and some reinforcement strategies to motivate
students' learning process. Additionally, I will try to improve my language through practicing.
