Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

The Praxis Core exams are very important to take. You must pass all test before moving

onto a bachelor’s degree. Without your bachelor’s degree, you wouldn’t be able to become a

teacher. The passing scores vary for each test. You need a 156 to pass Reading, a 162 to pass

Writing, and a 150 to pass Math.

Exam Preparation

My preparation wasn’t that very good. I didn’t really read about the test, or check the

websites provided for resource. The one thing I did do to prepare for the test was to take the

practice ones that they had for it. It just gave me a better understanding of what might be on the

test rather than not knowing for sure what I was going to have to answer.

Exam Results

The results I got on my Writing test was a 35%, meaning I am not very likely to pass my

writing test. The result I got on my Reading test was a 38%, meaning I also am not very likely to

pass my reading test. Finally the result I got on my Math test was a 54% meaning that I got only

a little more than half the questions right. Overall I have a better chance of passing the Math test

than the other subjects.

Future Exam Preparation

For future preparation I would definitely would want to get a tutor only because I am a

kinesthetic learner, so I would need to physically see it and do it myself in order to understand it
better and I think a tutor would really help with that. I would also like to purchase a textbook that

could help me study for the test and to help me understand better what will be on it. I would not

use any of the websites only because I am not much of a technology person, so I would just get

distracted really fast.
