Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

You must pass the Praxis Core Exam to be admitted to the college of education

at UNLV, NSC, or UNR and to continue your Bachelor’s degree in Education. For these

tests are designed to provide comprehensive assessments that measure the skills and

content knowledge of candidates entering teacher preparation programs. The passing

scores for the Praxis Core Exam in Nevada for math is 150, for reading is 156, and for

writing is 162.

Exam Preparation

For preparation for the Praxis Core Exam I did read about each exams. I did

practice questions from ETS. The ETS questions I felt helped me prepare. I did use

Praxis Prep websites. I have known some people who have taken the exams and did ask

them what to expect. I did study, but I could honestly gave myself more time to study.

Exam Results

In Math, I scored in the 65% range, which means that I need to really study to

pass the Math section when I take the official Praxis Core Exam. In Reading, I scored in

the 45% range, which means that need to look at what I struggled on and study to pass

the Reading section when I take the official Praxis Core Exam. In Writing, I scored in the
48% range I need to study to pass the Reading section when I take the official Praxis

Core Exam.

Future Exam Preparation

I will definitely be purchasing a study book or online program to work through. If

I feel I am still not getting the material, I will work with a tutor. I will be using the free

Praxis Prep websites that I’ve been provided. For preparation for this very important

exam I will defiantly buckle down, with work, family and just life, I will make this exam

and priority.
