Examine each leg along its entire length and check for

corrosion, abrasion, mechanical damage, broken wires          
Messure diameter to determine if there is any reduction

original due to wear or stretch from overloading          
Examine ferruls and check for impact damage/tearing. It

should be free of cracks and other deformaties          
Check that the end of the eye loop does not terminate
4 inside          
the ferrule unless it is the spised design          
Examine each thimble for correct fitting, also check for          
5
snagging damage caused by sling being dragged          
Check for elongation in the eyes which could indicate          
6
overloading          
Examine wire rope around thimbles as it is often abraded          
7
due to sling being dragged over rough surfaces          
If fitted, examine masterlink/quadruple assembly and
8 check          
for wear, corrosion and cracking
