To Whom it May Concern,

It is my pleasure to recommend Melisa Valenzuela. Melisa is a hard worker who is not

afraid to ask questions in order to understand all concepts. She is patient, firm, and kind when

working with others on group projects, labs, and helping students in many courses around

campus as an academic mentor or a translator. She is committed to her education and desires to

understand and apply information that she has learned. She is intelligent, motivated, outgoing,

and has a great sense of humor.

Melisa will be part of the first generation in her family to attend college. She is

committed to expanding her knowledge in order to one day become a psychiatrist. Melisa has

translated for students who are learning English so that they can understand the Math and

Chemistry concepts being taught in their classes. Melisa’s organizational skills and attention to

detail were evident during AP Biology and Biotechnology labs and demonstrated on her

blogging lab reports which can be found at https://mvalenzuela502057.weebly.com/.

Melisa has challenged herself throughout high school taking many AP classes (including

passing the AP Biology and AP US History exam), and taking classes at Merced Junior College.

Melisa has a great sense of humor and a positive attitude which has served her in all of her

volunteer work with Interact Club, Link Leader, Academic mentoring, and translating. I am
confident in her abilities and know that she will be successful pursuing her bachelors of science

in Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. If you have

any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.
