I am writing today to recommend Mekenna Ellis for an administrative role in your
district.
Mrs. Ellis and I have worked together for the past year in the Wauwatosa School District.
She is currently the Reading Specialist at Jefferson Elementary School. Mrs. Ellis is a
highly valued member of my leadership team. She enjoys collaborating and her positive
energy is evident and contagious. She is very up to date with best practice and brings
many powerful ideas to the table. She finds value in data and using the insight it offers to
move children and staff forward, including herself. Mrs. Ellis is not afraid to think out of
the box and encourages those around her to do so. I also admire her ability to learn from
successes as well as failures and share that learning to benefit those around her.
Mrs. Ellis serves on several committees and is one of the staff leaders in the building.
She has the ability to relate effectively with students, parents, faculty and administration.
She accepts all responsibilities given to her and carries them out with pride and dignity.
In addition, Mrs. Ellis often fills in for me as administrator in my absence. Her
confidence, strong communication skills and ease with challenging situations make it
easy for me to feel very confident leaving Mrs. Ellis in charge.
