Time Allotted : 3 Hours Maximum Marks: 183
INSTRUCTIONS
• Please read the instructions carefully. You are allotted 5 minutes specifically for this purpose.
• You are not allowed to leave the Examination Hall before the end of the test.

Caution: Question Paper CODE as given above MUST be correctly marked in the answer OMR sheet
before attempting the paper. Wrong CODE or no CODE will give wrong results.
A. General Instructions
✓ Attempt ALL the questions. Answers have to be marked on the OMR sheets.
✓ This question paper contains Three Sections.
✓ Section – I is “Chemistry”, Section – II is “Mathematics” and Section – III is “Physics”.
✓ Each Section is further divided into two Parts: Part – A & Part – C.
✓ Rough spaces are provided for rough work inside the question paper. No additional sheets will be
provided for rough work.
✓ Blank Papers, clip boards, log tables, slide rule, calculator, cellular phones, pagers and electronic
devices, in any form, are not allowed.
B. Filling of OMR Sheet
1. Ensure matching of OMR sheet with the Question paper before you start marking your answers on
Batch: All 1820

OMR sheet.
2. On the OMR sheet, darken the appropriate bubble with HB pencil for each character of your
Enrolment No. and write in ink your Name, Test Centre and other details at the designated places.
3. OMR sheet contains alphabets, numerals & special characters for marking answers.
C. Marking Scheme For All Three Parts.
(i) PART-A (01 – 07) contains 7 Multiple Choice Questions which have One or More Correct answer.
For each question in the group Q. 1 – 7 of PART – A you will be awarded
Full Marks: +4 If only the bubble(s) corresponding to all the correct options(s) is (are) darkened.
Partial Marks: +1 For darkening a bubble corresponding to each correct option, provided NO
incorrect option is darkened.
Zero Marks: 0 If none of the bubbles is darkened.
Negative Marks: −1 In all other cases.
• For example, if (A), (C) and (D) are all the correct options for a question, darkening all these
three will result in +4 marks; darkening only (A) and (D) will result in +2 marks; and darkening
(A) and (B) will result in −1 marks, as a wrong option is also darkened.
PART-A (08 - 13) contains 2 Tables with 3 Columns and 4 Rows has three questions. Column 1
will be with 4 rows designated (I), (II), (III) and (IV). Column 2 will be with 4 rows designated (i),
(ii), (iii) and (iv). Column 3 will be with 4 rows designated (P), (Q), (R) and (S). Each question has
four options with only one correct.
Full Marks : +3 If only the bubble corresponding to the correct answer is darkened
Zero Marks : 0 If none of the bubbles is darkened
Negative Marks : –1 In all other cases
(ii) PART-B valid for this paper as matrix match is not there.
(iii) PART-C (01 – 05) contains 5 Numerical Based questions with Single Digit Integer as answer, ranging
from 0 to 9 and each question carries +3 marks for correct answer. No negative marks will be
awarded in this section.

PART – C
(Integer Type)
This section contains 5 questions. The answer to each question is a single-digit integer, ranging from 0 to 9.
The correct digit below the question number in the ORS is to be bubbled.
1. A solid and rigid sphere of mass m = 80 kg and radius 0.2 m is spun about
a horizontal axis at an angular speed of  and then dropped without initial
speed onto a stationary cart of mass M = 200 kg from a height of h = 1.25
m. It hits the cart exactly at the centre. The cart can move smoothly. Its
collision is perfectly elastic, and momentary. The sphere keeps sliding
throughout the entire duration of the collision. The coefficient of kinetic
friction between the sphere and the cart is  = 0.1. The sphere rebounds
from the cart and falls back onto it again. The minimum possible length of
10x
the cart is X. The value of is.

2. A disk of radius a/4 having a uniformly distributed charge −(60) y

Coulombs is placed in the x-y plane with its centre at (−a/2, 0, 0). A rod
of length a carrying a uniformly distributed charge −(80) Coulombs is
placed on the x-axis from x = a/4 to x = 5a/4. Two point charges +(120)
Coulombs and +(30) Coulombs are placed at (a/4, −a/4, 0) and x
(−3a/4, 3a/4, 0), respectively. Consider a cubical surface formed by six
surfaces x =  a/2, y =  a/2, z =  a/2. The electric flux through this
cubical surface in SI unit is

m Vo = 10 m/s
3. A ball of mass 1 kg moving with velocity 10 m/s collides
perpendicularly on a smooth stationary wedge of mass 2kg
placed on smooth horizontal surface. If the coefficient of
M
restitution is e = 7/20 then find the velocity of ball after the
collision. [in ms–1]
 = 30°

4. There are six infinite line currents all in the direction of Z-axis with magnitude I. They pass through the
vertices of a regular hexagon on XY plane. B1 is magnitude of magnetic field at the center of hexagon
when currents through three consecutive vertices are switched off and B 2 is magnitude of magnetic
field at the center of hexagon when currents through two consecutive vertices are switched off. Find
B1
B2
5. The electric field in a region is given by E 2x)iˆ (x3 2y)jˆ V/m. The potential difference
(3x2 y
between the points A (0,0,0) and B(1m,1m,1m) is i.e. VB VA (In volt)
