Trip Report
This Tuesday, February 25, 2020 I visited the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce to
participate in a conference about emergency management. The conference took place in room
114 at the Academic Building at 12:00pm and finished at 1:20 pm. The instructor and trainer
José Ruiz presided the conference. Students and some professors attended the conference.
This report briefly resumes the more important points of the conference.
BENEFIT OF ATTENDING
All this information related to the current events in our country is very helpful, especially for
the student body. It is very important that we are prepared, because an emergency could strike
at any moment. We should take José’s recommendation and prepare a bag with important
documents and first aid products and keep it in our cars, because we never know when we
could need it. It is a good idea to have a triage in our university. It is very important that we
become certified rescuers, because if an emergency were to happen, no one can come in or
get out of our buildings until the immediate emergency has passed, so we have to rely on
each other when it comes to rescuing and first aid assistance.
CLOSING
I am glad that I attended this particular conference. Even though I would not want anything
bad to happen anytime soon, I am looking forward to attend the triage, so I can further
educate myself when it comes to emergency management. I plan to become a doctor, and it
could further introduce me to the field I desire.
