Toroan Waterfall

"Toroan" Waterfall is the only waterfall in Madura and is a natural uniqueness where at the end
of the river, under neat that has steeply sloping riverbank beautifully carved and the stream
passes that sloping riverbank. The specialty is the water that falls directly into the ocean. Having
a height of 20 meters sourced from the Sumber Payung River, its location which blends directly
with the ocean off the north coast is indeed a distinct advantage. The flow of water flows rapidly
and falls directly towards the sea estuary of Toroan Beach. When the sea water recedes, tourists
can go down under the waterfall and feel the sensation of swimming under a salty waterfall.
Whereas when the sea is high tide, tourists can only watch the combination of waterfalls and
beaches from the land side. Access to this tourist destination is not difficult because the road is
good. When you arrive at the parking lot, you have to walk down and down the beach before
arriving at the location of the waterfall. In this place you can find a little peace that still blends
with nature. This combination of waterfalls and beaches is worthy of being chosen as a tourist
destination.

TRANPORTATION

With a distance of about 105 km from the center of Surabaya and 4 km from Sampang, the
journey to Toroan Waterfall can be reached by private vehicles or public transportation. Because
public transport routes are already available to get to the location, as well as access roads that
have also been paved, there are only small holes in some roads but it does not interfere with the
smooth running of the trip. When crossing into Madura Island, there are 2 alternatives to choose
from, first bypassing the Suramadu Bridge that connects Surabaya with Madura. Second, by
using a ferry at the Port of Tanjung Perak. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to travel from Surabaya to
Toroan Waterfall. After crossing into Madura Island, there are two road plans that can be
traversed.

First, through the Pantura route in Bangkalan Regency and secondly taking a detour through the
middle of the city of Sampang. If when crossing using a ferry that docked at the Port of Kamal,
you should choose the Pantura route because the distance is closer. But if you cross Suramadu,
the route can be through the Pantura line or spin down the road in the middle of the city of
Sampang and go to Ketapang sub-district. If traveling using public transportation, from the
Bungurasih Terminal choose a bus that goes to Sampang district. After arriving in the city of
Sampang, get off in the Barisan area and continue the journey by using the L300 car that will
take you to the Ketapang sub-district at a rate of Rp.10,000. Travel by public transportation
departing from Tanjung Perak Harbor to Kamal Harbor can be continued by using the L300 car
that resides at the port. Fees are usually set at Rp. 20,000 to take you to the Ketapang sub-
district.

After we arrived at the area, we have to paying the parking fee of Rp. 5,000 for motorbikes and
cars. Rp. 10,000 As for the price of admission, a person is only charged around 5,000. In
addition, to reach the location of Toroan Waterfall you also do not need to spend a lot of energy
because you only need to set foot about 50 meters.

FACILITIES

Because it never received the attention of the government, for decades, the Toroan waterfall was
left as is. Facilities are inadequate except for a parking area managed by residents around. But if
still not optimal, the government has provided a little by building a small mosque and bathroom
with toilets. The impact of the addition of facilities made the number of visitors increase, thereby
increasing the interest of the community to make stalls selling food and drinks. Manage parking
is also still for the surrounding community. But do not worry, the vehicle that you leave is
guaranteed safety.

In the Toroan Waterfall area, there are no lodging facilities for tourists. So, for the visitors who
come from far away, if you need lodging, the closest location is in the city of Sampang Regency.

Surabaya Bestari Hotel, Camplong Hotel , and Setia Hotel.
