The river Wolf have a Brown skin with light spots on their necks, their weights are
between 25 and 32 kilos, and their measures are 1.5 to 2 meters long. They have a
diurnal habitat; these animals prefer to rest during the night, along with the rest of the
group.
It should be noted that for several decades the population of the river Wolf were
decimated by the desire to get their fine skin.
Today they are also threatened by the destruction of their habitat, excessive fishing,
water pollution and local tourism.
Today, the State protects this specie in various conservation units such as Manu,
Bahuaja Sonene, Yamachaga, Pacaya Samira.
