*Procedure:
1- Preparation of cement paste:
- Place (650 g) of cement in the mixer bowl,
- Add a measurcd quantity of water (start with 25% by weight) to the
cement.
- Allow 30 seconds for absorption.
- Mix at slow speed for 30 seconds.
- Stop the mixer for 15 seconds and scrape down the batch into the
bowl.
- Mix at medium speed for 1 minute.
3- Consistency Determination:
- Center the mold on the glass plate under the rod.
- Adjust the plunger rod to be in contact with the surface of the paste.
- Set the movable indicator to the upper zero mark of the scale.
-Release the rod immediately and read the penetration after 30 sec.
- Make trial pastes with varying percentages of water until the normal
consistency is obtained.
Results:
• Mass of cement = 650 g.
• Mass of water with penetration (10 ± 1mm)
after 30 sec = 230 g.

Reasons for the failure of the experiment :
1- Cement storage Conditions.
2- water temperature.
3. Place temperature.
4. Humidity rate.
5. The Cement is old.
we recommend that you pay attention to these reasons.
