A. Motivation
Good Morning Class! Good Morning Ma’am!

Today we will be tackle a new lesson.

But before that I want you to look at the
screen.
(One student will answer)
What do you see? Ma’am I see A bulb with wires and a
battery.

Yes, very good. Notice the wires what Ma’am the one wire is not connected
do you observe? to the bulb.

Yes , correct. Now if I click this button Ma’am the bulb is now illuminated and
what happens? the wires are all connected.
Yes, that is right. So what made the Ma’am the bolts of electricity.
bulb light up?
And what do you call those bolts of Current
electricity?
Excellent!!
So what is our topic for today? Electric Current

B. Lesson Proper

Let us first define electricity.

Electricity is a movement of charge
around a circuit. ( The students listen attentively)
Electric current is defined as the
amount of charge flowing per second and
is given the unit I(ampere).
The formula for ampere is I=Q/t where Q
is the charge transferred in coulombs and
t is the time in seconds.

Now let’s try solving some word

problems.
1. A 5 coulombs of charge pass
through a metal wire in 10
seconds. Find the current flowing
through the wire?

The Electric current is defined as I = Q/t.

where charge Q = 5 C,
          time t = 10s
Electric Current, I = 5C/10s
Current I = 0.5 A
So, the Current flowing through the metal
wire is equal to 0.5 Amperes.

For the second and third problem try

answering on your seats.

2. A battery is fully charged and is Sol’n:

connected to the Home The charge flowing through the battery in
appliances. The appliances 4 hours is equal to
together can draw a 1 Amperes of Q = I × t
current then find the charge where I = 1 Ampere,
flowing through the battery, if the          t = 4 hours
appliances run for 4 hours on Charge Q = 1 Ampere × 4 × 60 × 60
battery? seconds
Charge Q = 14400 coulombs.
Sol’n:
3. The current flowing through a The charge is given by Q = I × t
conductor for 4 minutes is 12 where I = Current = 12 A,
Amperes. Find the charge flowing          t = time = 4 min,
in it?  Charge, Q = 12 A × 4 × 60 sec
            Q = 2880 coulombs.
So the Charge flowing through the
conductor is 2880 coulombs.

B-E-S—T, B-E-S—T, B-E-S—T, B-E-S-T,

Okay very good everyone. All of B-E-S—T
you got the correct answer. Give
yourselves a BEST clap.

Class we now know how to find the

value of ampere or electric current
flowing through a circuit. But where
can we find electric power? What
are the source of electricity?
 Generators
 Steam from nuclear energy
 Steam from the Earth
 Electricity from waste
 Hydroelectricity
 Waves
 Wind
 Solar cells
 Fusion
 Fossil fuels

I hope everyone understood the Yes Ma’am

lesson. So now, are you all ready
for an activity?

C. Activity
1,2,3,1,2,3
For today’s activity you will be
group into 3. Count off.

Instruction (the students perform the activity)

It will be a 2 round quiz game and
each group will have 1 participant
for round 1 and another participant
for round 2. There will be 5
questions per round and the group
who has won the most rounds
wins.

D. Abstraction
Ma’aam the activity was
How was the activity? - Fun
- Interesting
- Exciting
-
Yes Ma’am
Class, did you understand the
lesson?
None Ma’am
Do you have further questions?

Very well. Who can some up our (One student will answer)
lesson for today?

Okay to see if all of you

understand the lesson we will have
a short quiz.
