Semi detailed lesson plan in Science 6

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson the learners will be able to:
a. Understand what is the “law of conservation of energy “is all about.
b. Identify different forms of energy and the possible transformation they turn into.
II. Subject –Matter
Topic: The Law of Conservation of Energy
Reference: MELC week 3-5 (S6FE – IIIId-f-2)
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation
III. Procedure
a. Greetings
b. Opening Prayer
c. Checking of Attendance
d. Classroom management ( online classroom rules`)
e. Review
 What is energy? . it is the capacity for doing work . it may exist in
potential, kinetic, thermal, electrical, chemical, light or other various forms.
 Provide different or various Picture as an example of Energy.
 Have you noticed that a pressed spring contains Potential Energy and
once release it start to its motion as for kinetic energy? What do happen?
Does potential energy has been destroyed while kinetic energy has been
created?
IV. Discussion
 The answer to the previous question is “No”. It’s just happen that after
releasing of the hands from the compressed spring TRANSFORMS potential
energy into kinetic energy.
 According to science this principle is known as “ The Law of Conservation of
Energy “ which states that the total energy of an isolated system remains
constant; it is saved to be conserved over time.
 Introduce different forms of energy together with what are the possible
transformations this energy can turn into other form of energy.
V. Assessment
Identification : learners will identify as to what energy transformation happens as
shown in the picture.

VI. Generalization
 The Law of Conservation of energy simply states that the energy is neither
created nor destroyed. The energy is only transformed into another or
various forms.
 So, what was the benefits of knowing and understanding the “Law of
Conservation of Energy “ to mankind?
 With these concepts mankind find or come up with different ideas that
benefits us .
 Solar panels, transforming the Light Energy to electric energy , in which helps
reduce the use of a nonrenewable fossil fuels to provide electricity.
 Solar generated cars same concept as a solar panel. Known for its pollution
free exhaust.
 Understanding these concepts shows that energy is everywhere in which it
transforms into various forms in a same way as the application of these
concepts changes human lives.
