I. COVER LETTER
I am Marvin R. Malang, 20 years old, second year college student, taking
Bachelor of science in Accounting Information System in Eduardo L. Joson Memorial
College at Barangay Singalat, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

My experience in college has given me a chance to sharpen my skills in my field

of choice. I realized that I still had a lot to learn despite what I thought, and this
allows me to improve my skills more as a continue classes and gives me more
confidence in my area. As a result, I know one day this valuable experience will help
me in my search for another one a rewarding career.

Inside this portfolio is written all the topics that we tackled during the Enhance
Community Quarantine. This will show what we have done and learned in our online
class. We have some activities and quizzes or exercise that we’ve done just like in
our normal class. Also, it’s included my reflection in our topics that we tackled and its
summary. This shows all what we have done and what is the effect of the online
class.

A. CHAPTER 9

 ADVOCACY AGAINST CORRUPTION

 KEY CONCEPTS/ KEYWORDS

1. How does corruption look like?
2. Why and how does a person become corrupt?
3. Effect of corruption
4. Characteristics of corruption
5. Philippine corruption report

 SUMMARY
Corruption is the abuse of private and public office for
personal gain.it is also a form of dishonesty or criminal activity
undertaken by a person on organization entrusted with a position
of authority, often to acquire self-benefit.
In this chapter shows, how does corruption look like, why
does a person become corrupt, effects of corruption, characteristic
of corruption, and the Philippine corruption report.
 ACTIVITIES
Question: what can you notice about the process of giving the Social
Amelioration in your barangay (Good or Bad)?

Answer:
About the process of giving the Social Amelioration or the help for those
chosen family in our barangay is fast. I am not expecting that in can be
done in just a week. In our barangay there was a little delay because
there are some people that is complaining that why they are not belong to
the list that will be given a financial help. So, our barangay officials have
an idea and that is to divide all the money to all the families in our
barangay, so everyone will get equal financial assistance, but it does not
happen it is unlawful, and I think that officers will do that also to corrupt
some money also. Corruption is too hard to fight because everyone
doesn’t have contentment.

 REFLECTION
This lesson that is about the advocacy against corruption open the eyes of a
student like me about corruption and how to handle if we face a situation where there is
a corruption. This kind of lesson teaches me about morality that is more important than
other knowledge. It is real that corruption is hard to fight because sometimes we
ourselves are being corrupt. I think we can fight the corruption if everyone of us will have
contentment in life and to care to everyone and not be selfish.

III. GENERAL REFLECTION

In this subject, I’ve learned a lot about what is happening on the field of work,
and how to act on the different situations that we may face. Through this lesson that
is all about corruption, I’ve observe different corruption that is happening not only in
our government, but also, I’ve learned that corruption is around us.
In this time of pandemic where our economy is getting lower and lower because
businesses are not operating so less income to our government, I notice that some
government officials are still trying to corrupt some money through the Social
Amelioration Program like what’s happen in our barangay.
In our time right now, corruption is just like a normal thing, because everywhere
there is a corruption. Maybe we are not noticing that sometimes we commit
corruption in some different ways. This lesson is a big help for us students to have
prior knowledge about corruption.
