Total lockdown may be declared in Metro Manila due to rising Covid-19 cases. The enhanced community quarantine implemented in March has failed to reduce cases. Violators of quarantine rules will face criminal prosecution to encourage compliance with social distancing. A total lockdown would be difficult for the government to maintain due to limited ability to supply residents' needs. Citizens are urged to follow quarantine guidelines to help frontline workers combat the virus.

Due to the rise of Covid-19, there are speculations that President Rodrigo Duterte will declare a total lockdown in Metro Manila. Since Enhance Community Quarantine has happened back in March 2020, the cases of Covid-19 is continuously rising up until now. The Enhance Community Quarantine has been declared, but there are some community quarantine violators who tried to violate the rules that the government gave them. Therefore, the military forces are trying their best to ensure the safety of the people from this virus outbreak. PNP chief Gamboa also announced that violators will have their day of justice for all lawbreakers when we consider the right time to file criminal charges directly in court to start their criminal prosecution agony (CNN Philippines, 2020). In addition to that the PNP Chief said, "that many people are willfully disobey and violate government rules to remain indoors". It was supposed to be the extension of ECQ but it would be hard for the government to give supplies to people who are in need because it is limited. Though, there isn't yet a decision of when the total lockdown is happening. Despite that the total lockdown is not happening yet. We, the people should follow the rules of the community quarantine to ensure the safety of ourselves and the people, to give ease to the frontliners as they fight against Covid-19.
