Lecture
Today we are talking about expressions.
When we speak English then we use different kinds of expressions.
Suppose you see a friend or a teacher in university, there would be different
kind of expression for both. For the lecturer you use formal language to greet
him/her like you say hello/hey and after seeing your friend there would be
different expression to greet him/her.
There are two types of expression in English
1. Formal Expression
2. Informal Expression
Formal Expression:
Like Hello
Hi.
How’s it going.
How are you.
How’s life bearing you.
How’s life treating you.
How’s life keeping you.
We pronounce how are is how-er.
Informal Expression:
What’s up
What’s going on.
How’s going on.
Is everything ok.
Are you ok.
How are you spending these days
Reply:
Ok here,
Fine,
Ship Shap,
Not bad,
Going well,
Everything is fine,
Just bearing up (bs guzar rhi ha),
Just spending,
I’m absolutely fine,
Top of the world,
Over the moon,
Nice,
I’m perfectly alright,
Right here.
Surprised Situation:
Really,
Not Really,
I don’t belive this,
Oh I see,
Is that so,
I can’t imagine,
Ending Meeting:
I’m off now,
I’m heading off, ()میں جا رہا ہوں
See you, (We will pronounce as siya)
Ta Ta, (We will pronounce as tara),
Bye bye,
Good bye,
Nice to meet you (answer is my pleasure).
Imna
Shizna
Hizna

Part 5:
When we use passive voice the we give more importance to object,
things values are increase and the worker importance is less.
But in simple English the worker importance is more than the work.
For example:
Music is being listen by Ahmad (In this sentence music is prominent).
Work is being done by the worker.
Work is being done.
House is being clear.
New shops are being open outside the road.
Admission is being opened.
New dispensaries are being opened in the city.
Room is being decorated.
We mostly use active language because we are not native speakers so
we talk about ourselves or the peoples who are working we talk about
first. We talk like, I am going to buy ac and the technician come here
and fix the ac with wall. So in passive voice we say directly, AC is
being fixed.
Bill is being paid. (instead off I’m being the bill)
Money is being deposited in the bank.
*Someone say “What are doing here?”
We say I’m depositing the money in bank. But the British says,
money is being deposited in the bank.
Native speakers mostly talk about objective first.
