CRACK RECTIFICATION BY EPOXY INJECTION

Product Description & Features:

ALPHATEC 340, is a two-component polymer injection system consisting of modified

epoxy resin and amine-modified hardener.
ALPHATEC 340 has been formulated for high moisture tolerance, allowing it to cure
and bond to steel and concrete in a submerged condition. It is widely used for the repair of
water-soaked concrete foundations of press machines, rolling mills, and rails as well as repair
of wet and underwater structural concrete. It is also excellent as adhesive for pile splicing.

ALPHATEC 900 EG-T is a trowellable three-component system of modified epoxy

resins and modified polyamine with a specially formulated inorganic blended aggregate. It
has the strength and the relative chemical inertness of epoxy resins plus the toughness and
bonding properties of modified polyamine curing agent.

C. Application Procedure:

METHODOLOGY OF EPOXY INJECTION

C-1 High Pressure Injection Method

1. SURFACE PREPARATION
1.1 Surface preparation by steel brush or sand paper the line of cracks.;
1.2 Drill entry ports intercepting the cracks. Entry ports shall be provided along the
cracks at intervals of not less than the thickness of the concrete surface;

PREPARED SURFACE TO BE
SEALED WITH ALPHATEC 900 EG-T

1.3 Clean crack surface and drilled entry ports with compressed air;
1.4 Seal the crack surface using ALPHATEC 900 EG-T
1.5 Allow the ALPHATEC 900 EG-T to harden at least overnight.

2. EPOXY INJECTION

2.1 Mix the Base Resin and hardener of ALPHATEC 340 using a measuring cup & spatula.
Mixing ratio would be 2:1 (base resin-hardener);

2.2 Start the pressure injection by connecting the nozzle of the injection to the lowest

entry port in the vertical crack and proceed with the injection until the epoxy
mixtures flows out to the next open entry port;
2.3 When ALPHATEC 340 travel is indicated by the appearance at the next adjacent
port, injection shall be discontinued on the entry port being pumped, and epoxy
injection is transferred to the next adjacent port when epoxy adhesive has
appeared’
2.4 Remove/cut entry ports after 2 hours and seal the hole with ALPHATEC 900 EG-T.
2.5 Grind surface to level with the existing concrete surface.
